LAHORE: In order to further tighten screws around former Punjab Chief Minister and PTI Central President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) launched yet another inquiry against him.  This time Pervaiz is under scanner for allegedly submitting fake medical certificate to court. Former Chief Minister allegedly submitted fake certificate of typhoid in court of special judge anti-corruption on May 11, 2023. Certificate issued by Services Hospital Lahore bears token number 52, room number 21 and stamp of registrar Surgical Unit-II.

In order to find out how surgical unit issued fake certificate, anti-corruption department has started questioning doctors. As per department officials, certificate was issued in connivance with hospital staff. Department has already registered case against PTI leader for allegedly receiving kickbacks in development schemes in his hometown Gujrat. Eight others are also nominated in case for allegedly causing loss of over Rs 1 billion to national exchequer through bogus payments.

On other hand, police teams sent to Pervaiz’s residence at Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Road in Lahore yesterday failed to nab him despite raiding his home twice. And despite fact that locator had spotted him, police could not arrest him. Police even searched nearby school, but in vain.

And despite failing in its two attempts, heavy police contingent again laid siege to former Punjab CM’s home on Friday. All entry and exit points were sealed and only residents were allowed to enter area.
