Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shandana Gulzar has said that suspected anthrax-laced letters to Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges were an attempt to silence them. According to PTI leader, whole fiasco resembled scene of Bollywood movie in which perpetrators attempted to frighten judges by sending threatening letters.
Earlier today, at least eight judges, including Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court reportedly received letters laced with ‘anthrax’. Shandana Gulzar termed postponement of Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, daylight robbery, saying that PTI was asked to give up its seats to opposition parties despite forming government in province.
Provincial election commissioner postponed Senate elections in KP following application of opposition members. Opposition members had moved ECP as dispute over swearing-in of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s opposition members elected to reserved seats remained unresolved.
