ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supremo Imran Khan has asked coalition government to announce elections or he would begin long march towards Islamabad. Imran Khan admitted that backdoor talks were held but things remained unclear.Imran Khan said he was giving time to government for sake of country. “They (government) still have time to announce elections, and if they dont, I will begin my march towards Islamabad and my preparations are almost complete, he warned.
PTI Chairman said that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah wont even know what hit him, such is my preparation. He also ruled out any dialogues with ruling elite, saying: Theres no negotiation with criminals. You can hold reconciliation talks with Baloch or Sindhi nationalists, but not with felons like them.
He claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif was delaying general elections, adding: Nawaz was afraid of polls due to PTI growing popularity.
He reiterated that ultimate goal of ruling leaders was to secure a National Reconciliation Order in their corruption cases. Imran Khan demands re-election in Karachi NA-237
Earlier in press conference, he demanded Election Commission of Pakistan to hold re-election in Karachi NA-237 constituency, accusing Pakistan People Party of rigging.
He claimed that his party had evidence that Pakistan Peoples Party openly indulged in rigging. Sindh election commissioner is on provincial government payroll and we have already approached judicial council against him, he told journalists. As like Daska there should be re-election in Karachi too. “This was not an election but a referendum. Voters knew that we were not supposed to sit in assembly but people voted for PTI,” Imran added.
PTI Chairman made it clear that March would be held in October. “I give you a few days. Announce general elections or get ready to face our onslaught,” he said, adding establishment as well as people would come to know on which side people were. Imran said that PTI planned to approach international organisations to bring to their notice brutal treatment being meted out to its leaders like Senator Azam Swati and Shehbaz Gill here in Pakistan.
“It is so unfortunate that Senate Chairman did not produce production orders for Swati. We are now mulling moving Supreme Court over issue,” he disclosed.
