Andrew of US Embassy, Ishaq Dar discuss trade ties

ISLAMABAD: Andrew Schofer Charge’d Affaires of Embassy of United States of America called on Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Ishaq Dar at Finance Division. Ishaq Dar and Andrew Schofer exchanged views on remarkable bilateral relations held with United States on economic and trade fronts.
Finance Minister apprised him of economy of country and discussed current challenges being faced by country. He communicated about difficult policy decisions recently being taken by government with aim of stabilising economy and then taking economy on an upward curve ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth.
Finance Minister informed Charge’d Affaires about on-going IMF programme and assured him that government is committed to complete programme. Andrew Schofer voiced his confidence in policies and programmes of government for economic stability of country and extended his support to advance existing economic and trade relations between both countries.
Finance Minister thanked US Charge’d Affaires and reiterated desire of government to further expand bilateral trade and investment ties with USA.
