Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed on importance of dialogue but specified that all political leaders are not deserving of it.

“Dialogue is deeply embedded in political process, which helps democracy mature and evolve,” he wrote on twitter.

“However, there is major difference here, anarchists and arsonists who wear garb of politicians and attack symbols of State do not qualify for dialogue. They should rather be held to account for their militant actions. This is prevalent practice even in developed democracies,” he added. Tweets come amid criticism leveled at government for its refusal to engage with Imran Khan while meting out harsh treatment to his supporters and colleagues. Although adamant in refusal to engage with opposition during his tenure as Prime Minister, addressing his supporters last week, Imran said he would constitute committee for negotiations with “Anyone in power”.
