LAHORE: Former President Dr Arif Alvi came down hard on government formed after February 8 general elections, stating that if this coalition governing country based on Form 47 continued, situation would deteriorate further.
Speaking at press conference alongside fellow PTI leaders, Alvi observed that current Parliament had weak mandate since it had been formed based on Form 47. Dr Alvi deplored that founder and leaders of PTI were still in jail despite having won heavy mandate. Former President said that he met with founder of PTI Imran Khan and found him in good health and good spirits. Dr Alvi opined that dialogue was only solution to all national issues. Dr Alvi said that he had always played mediatory role and would continue to strive for dialogue. Ex-President said that he had always defended country’s military and would continue to do so. Alvi said that Pakistan needed investment at moment and recent visit of delegation of Saudi businessmen would prove beneficial for country.
Dr Alvi said that Pakistan was only country where social media had been banned, adding that social media platforms were in hands of people who spread rumours.
