Karachi: There is heinous conspiracy being hatched against political party of 'Mohsin-e-Pakistan' General (retd) Pervez Musharraf. Despite regular attendance at Election Commission for past several years, election symbol of All Pakistan Muslim League has been allotted to independent candidates by the Election Commission which is a sheer violation in all aspects, these views were expressed by APML's Central Information Secretary Irfan Memon.

Memon also demanded Supreme Court of Pakistan to form a high-level commission who will investigate the assets and accounts of staff appointed in Election Commission.

In exclusive talks with Daily National Courier, Irfan Memon said that it is known to all that the former President who raised the slogan 'Pakistan First' and whose contribution and services for the country are undoubtedly phenomenal and incomparable, so this kind of unjust treatment with APML is absolutely unacceptable and cannot be ignored under any circumstances.

He also said that the pivotal role played by General Pervez Musharraf in the construction and the economic development of Pakistan can never be forgotten.

Memon also cited the reason for not holding  intra-party elections on time was merely due to deteriorating health condition of former Army Chief and also there was no other person except Gen Musharraf who could lead the party in such a tremendous manner. On the other side in last five years, several key officials of All Pakistan Muslim League changed their loyalties and joined PTI and other political parties.

Memon further said that despite all these difficulties, the ideological workers who were always devoted and sincere to General Pervez Musharraf are still working day and night to advance his mission with determination.

Irfan also told this scribe, that whenever he was called by ECP he always showed his appearance and presented all the facts related to any query or ambiguity.

He added that allotment of APML's symbol to independent candidates is extremely deplorable act and tends to be unfair. Being deprived of our own identity and symbol is a moment of serious concern.

Memon said that if the decision is not reverted, then we are at liberty to initiate action within legal and constitutional framework against ECP and will not accept this injustice.

Irfan Memon has appealed to Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo motu against this conspiracy aimed at keeping political party founded by General Pervez Musharraf away from elections.

Irfan Memon said that All Pakistan Muslim League is always ready to participate in general elections.

Due to lack of courage to compete in political arena, certain elements afraid of popularity of APML are using illegal and unethical tactics but all will go in vain.
