Alleged facilitator of KPO attack arrested

KARACHI: In significant progress in investigation into Friday’s attack at KPO office of Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi, police arrested an alleged facilitator of attackers. Three terrorists were killed and four people, including two policemen and Sindh Rangers sub-inspector embraced martyrdom in joint operation of Sindh police and Rangers at KPO heavily-guarded Karachi Police Office situated in heart of metropolis.
Sources said that police interviewed over dozen people, during raids in various areas of Gulistan-e-Jauhar and other nearby areas. Sources identified suspect was arrested from Gulistan-e-Johar with help of mobile phone link of KPO attackers.
Earlier Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon formed five-member inquiry committee to ascertain facts behind Friday’s attack at KPO.
According to notification issued DIG Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department Zulfiqar Larik will head five-member probe team. Other committee members are DIG South Zone Irfan Baloch, DIG Karim Khan, SSP Tariq Nawaz and DSP Raja Umar Khatab.
