It is a great honor for Pakistan to host the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), whose main objectives are to promote political, economic and security cooperation in the region.

Pakistan has prepared to make this summit conference a reality for a major economic development. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the meeting and hold important meetings with the heads of delegations. Issues of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, socio-cultural relations and environment will be discussed.  This meeting is being held on October 15 and 16 at Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad. The  Convention centre  has been renovated according to international standards.  All the arrangements have been reviewed thoroughly and experts have expressed their satisfaction.

Jinnah Convention Center was built in 1997 to hold the OIC summit. Security, traffic management and renovation preparations have been completed for the successful holding of the SCO summit. Flags and welcome slogans of SCO member countries are displayed. 50 children have been hired to present flowers bouquets to the guests. More than 3500 officers and personnel will perform security duties.  The arrival of guests has started from Monday. The Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the First Vice President of Iran and the Foreign Minister of India will participate in the meeting. The Prime Minister of observer country Mongolia and the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan will participate in the meeting. It will be the first time that any Indian foreign minister visited Pakistan after 2015. Earlier, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj participated in the Heart Asia Conference in Islamabad regarding Afghanistan.

The summit is a good augury and it will bring the leaders of the regions together and give them an opportunity to come closer and deliberate on new ventures of mustual interest in the fields of  economy, politics, human development and properity and also on how to maintain peace in the region and address the security issues as well. Meanwhile, the announcement of protest by Tehreek-e-Insaf in D Chowk of the capital Islamabad on the occasion of the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a cause of surprise and concern for every Pakistani who has awareness of national interests and political understanding.  This is the reason why, according to reliable reports, many serious leaders of PTI themselves are worried about this decision, while government ministers and leaders of coalition parties including Pakistan People's Party, terming this attitude as anti-nationalism.  Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said in a press conference in Sialkot that PTI members want to stop the country's development.  Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said in a press conference in Sialkot that PTI members want to block the path of country's development, these people want to release the founder of PTI by blackmailing the state. Their thinking is that if PTI is not in power, then nothing. A week ago, this party also invaded Islamabad. All the machinery and resources of a province were used for this.  The call for protest on the occasion of SCO conference is proof of PTI's anti-nationalism, their only demand is to release the founder of PTI.  PTI people want to attack again like May 9, they don't want Pakistan to develop. National survival and security should be our red line, and we want rule of law and constitution in the country. This attitude of the ruling party and its allies towards Tehreek-e-Insaaf is unfortunately largely consistent with the facts.  In 2014, Tehreek-e-Insaaf's long and violent sit-in led to the cancellation of the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister for the CPEC agreement, which caused severe damage to national interests.

To thwart the government's efforts to save Pakistan from default during the PDM regime, Shaukat Tareen, the party leader who was the finance minister during the PTI regime,  asked the PTI governments in Punjab and KP, the Punjab and KP Finance Ministers were directed to thwart the ongoing efforts of the  then federal government to reach an agreement with the IMF by adopting an attitude of non-cooperation. In the middle of February this year, during the caretaker government, the founder PTI himself sent a letter to the IMF, in which they asked the lenders to not entertain the caretaker government, demanding that the agreement not be signed.  After that, on May 9 last year, military installations were attacked across the country to allegedly launch a coup against the military leadership, most of the details of which have come to light. In this context of the situation, the announcement of protest in Islamabad on the occasion of the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization is seen as a continuation of the same permanent style of politics of PTI.  The objection of Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and other government officials was that PTI is not ready to consider the most important national interests for the release of its founder.  On the other hand, the government deteractors say that Govt is following a policy of victimisation. It is also worthy of attention that why the cases against founder PTI in several serious charges are proved weak in the courts, why there is a need to establish new cases continuously to keep them in jail, cases like 9 May and Al Qadir Trust.

Why are you not moving forward? If the allegations are based on facts, then the cases should be brought to their logical end by presenting the evidence in the courts as soon as possible, otherwise the demand of the Tehreek-e-Insaf for the release of its founder will be justified and the refusal to recognize it will lead to continuous political unrest in the country. And will continue to cause instability. Anyway, the legal fight is another thing, but it is a fact that PTI only looks after its own interest and it does not seem to be sincere with the masses and do not focus on national interest.
