Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi’s 4-day Eid Shopping event for orphan children organised on Orphan Day concluded at Chase Value Department Store. Total of 1,700 orphan children under Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Programme participated in event and enjoyed Eid shopping experience thoroughly with mothers and guardians under guidance of Alkhidmat’s volunteers.

Each orphan child was entitled to gift voucher of Rs 5,000. Several important personalities from various institutions were present including actors Ayaz Khan and Kashif Khan, senior TV anchor Farhana Owais, Shaukat Ali from Rasheed and Sons and others along with Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureishi, Director Community Services Qazi Syed Sadruddin, senior Manager Inayatullah Ismail and other senior officials Children exchanged warm feelings with them and their guardians. Lauding Alkhidmat for its heart-warming initiative Farhana Owais said that it was moving experience to see these orphan children enjoying their shopping and choosing gifts for themselves.  Ayaz Khan and Kashif Khan stressed on great rewards for taking care of orphans reminding gathering that Prophet (SAWS) was an orphan himself.  Rashid Qureshi disclosed that orphan children under Alkhidmat’s care are also being provided religious and moral guidance through programs conducted on special occasions such as Ramadhan.
