Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi is currently operating 60 water filtration plants under its WASH programme, which are providing safe and clean drinking water of highest quality to thousands of citizens on daily basis, according to CEO Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig.

Stressing importance of clean water and hazards of contaminated water, Naveed said that Alkhidmat was working hard to provide clean water to citizens at subsidised rates through Water And Sanitary Hygiene. He added that Alkhidmat was also operating mobile water van service to dispense clean and cool water at Iftar time and during hot summer. Alkhidmat has also established water testing lab in PIB where citizens and institutions can test their water samples.

In addition, there is team of water technicians that performs maintenance work at water plants that develop mechanical problems. He disclosed that Alkhidmat had procured water filtration plants from Japanese government during tenure of late Mayor Niamatullah Khan that were still in operation and were providing clean water to citizens.

According to him, there was serious scarcity of clean water in city and Alkhidmat’s intention was to provide clean water to every corner of city. Lastly, he appealed to those with means to come forward and help Alkhidmat in its efforts.
