Alkhidmat giving interest-free loans to unemployed: CEO Naveed

Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi has given interest-free loans to hundreds of unemployed and deserving people to help them establish their small businesses through its nationwide Mawakhat programme. According to CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, initial assistance may be between Rs 30,000 to 75,000 and include loans given for limited period of time such as on occasion of Ramadhan or Eid-ul-Azha to help trade in sacrificial animals.
Another initiative is Skill Development Centre in PIB also run under Mawakhat programme imparts free technical training courses to semi-literate youth to help them learn professional trades such as electric maintenance, tailoring and mobile phone repairing. Number of youth have passed out of Skill Development Centre and established their own businesses that have helped them to earn respectable living for themselves and their families.
