Bangladesh: Aleem Dar, a world renowned umpire from Pakistan, on Friday was honored by players and match officials at the end of his 24-year-long career. Dar recently announced his decision to step down from the International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Panel of Umpires after serving for 19 years.
His last match was the one-off Test between Bangladesh and Ireland, which ended in a seven-wicket win for Bangladesh.
At the conclusion of the game, players from both teams and Dar's fellow umpires bid farewell to him as he left the field.
Dar had been a member of the Elite Panel since its establishment in 2002 and had officiated more Tests and ODIs than any other umpire.
He also holds the record for officiating 436 international matches, including four World Cup finals, which is a remarkable achievement.
