Aitkaf starts across Pakistan, Muslim world

KARACHI: Millions of Muslims across globe, including Pakistan have privileged time performing remaining days of Ramadhan in sitting masajid for Aitkaf on April 11, 20th of Ramadhan.

Aitkaf is practice of secluding oneself during final 10 days of Ramadhan, in masjid for men or at home for women with intention of solely dedicating your time to worship of Allah Almighty, leaving worldly concerns behind.

It is great Sunnah of Messenger of Allah, highly virtuous, rewarding and an act that every Muslim strive to perform at least once in lifetime.

Large number of mosques throughout Muslim countries including Pakistan have made extensive arrangements for Muslims who would like to perform ‘Aitkaf’ (meditative seclusion) from today during last 10 days of Ramadhan.

In this regard, special arrangements have been made for Aitkaf in masajid across country and special preparations have been made in homes as well.

Aitkaf starts after sunset on 20th of Ramazan and ends when moon for Eid is sighted. Thousands of people also sit in Aitkaf in masajid managed by Auqaf Department.
