Karachi: Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command Air Vice Marshal Khalid Mehmood and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori discussed importance of Air Force in protecting airspace, efficiency of Air Force and preparation according to modern requirements. Governor said that Pakistan Air Force is proud guardian of air borders. He said that Pakistan Air Force played an unforgettable role in every difficult hour. Pakistan Air Force showed its iron in whole world. Khalid Mahmood said that PAF has ability to give results according to aspirations of nation.

Meanwhile, addressing Sadequain Awards ceremony organised by KMC Tessori said that better platform is available to artists who show essence of fine arts and quality creation. In this context, along with establishment of Sadeduain Art Gallery, KMC has taken commendable step and launched Sadequain Awards. Hopefully, awardees will continue to seek best. He said that current political and economic situation requires attention of all of us. Entire nation is saddened by events of May 9. Miscreants tried to harm national unity but armed forces with restraint, patience and tolerance thwarted enemy's plot.

Governor inaugurated exhibition and distributed awards to people. Consul Generals of many countries, Administrator Karachi Dr. Saif Rahman, senior Director of Culture and Sports Saif Abbas and others were present.

Governor in his message on World Anti-Tobacco Day said that we are all aware of effects of smoking on health, increasing use of smoking and drugs among youth is worrisome. It is important to make people aware of harmful effects of smoking.
