After Bannu, militants storm police station in Wana

Vana: Heavily-armed militants stormed police station in Wana Town of South Waziristan district early morning leaving one police official injured in attack. One terrorist was also killed during an exchange of fire between militants, reportedly belonging to banned TTP and police officials. Body was transported to Frontier Corps (FC) camp where it remains under custody of security forces.
Being outgunned and outnumbered, reportedly all police personnel surrendered. Militants then proceeded to loot all weapons and ammunition at station and fled taking police vehicles. According to police, attackers numbered in between 50 to 60 were armed with rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and other small arms. Militants first attacked police station with RPGs, hand grenades and other light weapons. Once gate was breached, they entered premises forcing police officials to surrender.
Security forces have reportedly begun preparations for search operation and have initiated an investigation into incident.
