Pakistani actress Nargis has decided to withdraw the domestic violence case she had filed against her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir. The actress announced her decision to forgive her husband, following family intervention.
The case, filed in November 2024, stemmed from allegations by Nargis that her husband had physically abused her. She had registered the complaint at the Defence police station, and her husband was later granted bail. However, in a recent turn of events, Nargis submitted an affidavit to the court confirming their reconciliation. She stated that, after discussions with family elders, she had decided to forgive her husband. As part of the reconciliation process, Nargis and Bashir agreed not to live together for the next three years. Nargis, whose real name is Ghazala Idris, had previously retired from the entertainment industry following her marriage to Bashir. She now manages a beauty salon in Lahore.
In a related incident, actor and host Ayesha Jehanzeb clarified that she has not reconciled with her husband Haris Ali after an alleged domestic violence incident. She confirmed that she had filed for divorce, despite reports suggesting otherwise. Jehanzeb, in a social media post from her daughter Zoha Tauqeer, emphasized that no charges had been pressed against her husband for the sake of their children. However, she firmly stated that there was no reconciliation and reaffirmed that there is no tolerance for domestic violence. This announcement comes amid growing discussions on domestic violence cases in Pakistan, with both Nargis and Jehanzeb taking a stand on their respective situations.
