Acting President, PM, Armed Forces felicitate nation on Youm-e-Takbeer

ISLAMABAD: Acting President, Prime Minister and Services Chiefs have felicitated nation on observance of 26th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer. In message on day, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has reiterated resolve to continue working towards peaceful and stable world.

He said, on this day, we successfully demonstrated our nuclear capabilities and joined ranks of nuclear powers. He said that Youm-e-Takbeer serves as testament to our nation’s resilience, unwavering determination and commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability. He said Pakistan, as responsible nuclear state, firmly believes in peaceful resolution of conflicts. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said day symbolizes collective effort of all facets of national power. Prime Minister said on this day, entire nation vowed for integrity of this country that no compromise will be made by accepting any kind of external pressure on country’s defense. He said Youm-e-Takbeer is day to pay tribute to then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Army’s initiative to make country’s defense impregnable. He paid tribute to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and scientists for their role in initiating and continuing Pakistan’s nuclear programme.   Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs have in statement, according to ISPR, said that Armed Forces pay tribute to unwavering dedication and selfless sacrifices of all those who contributed to this remarkable feat, achieved against overwhelming odds. It said Armed Forces of Pakistan reaffirm their unwavering resolve to defend motherland, protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensure nation’s security at all times and at any cost.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that Youm-e-Takbeer is day of pride not only for Pakistani nation but also for Islamic world. In her special message, she congratulated nation and expressed her admiration for every member of team involved in national defence mission.
