Acting Gov Sindh Agha Siraj visits Garhi Yasin flood-hit areas

Karachi: Acting Governor Sindh Agha Siraj Durrani visited rain-affected areas of Garhi Yasin and expressed concern over difficulties being faced by people. Concerned authorities were instructed to provide immediate relief to people. Talking to media persons he said that people will not be left alone in this difficult time.

All commissioners and deputy commissioners have been directed to provide assistance to affected people. He said that due to unusual rains, there are difficulties in relief work because this year situation is different than 2010, 2011. All public representatives are present in field to help people, while Sindh government has declared all districts including Shikarpur calamity hit. Federal government is also helping people in camps through NDMA.

All possible facilities are being provided by PDMA in this regard, negligence in helping people will not be excused in any case, he added.  He said that they are working to drain water. Another spell of rain is predicted. He said that strict action will be taken against those hoarding essential items for daily use.
