ACPK organises condolence reference to honour Mansoor Rahi

KARACHI: Arts Council Karachi Fine Art Committee organised condolence reference in honour of artist Mansoor Rahi. Condolence reference began with screening of short reel on Mansoor Rahi’s life.
President Arts Council Ahmed Shah, Anwar Jaffri, Chitra Pritam, Farrukh Shahab, Maher Afroz, Farhan Qureshi, S.A. Noori, senior art teacher Abdul Hameed, A.S. Rind and Mak shared their insights. Ahmed Shah said that Mansoor Rahi was person who transferred his art to youth. Mansoor Rahi was one of most famous artists of his era. He had organised many exhibitions at Arts Council. Anwar Jaffri stated that he was very smart man whose personality was reflected in his work. He was punctual and respected his tools and he was friendly and loving person. He had beautiful connection with mountains his canvases are evidence of his love for mountains. Chitra Pritam said that Mansoor was an institution in him. Artists like Mansoor Rahi are assets to country. His work reveals unique and beautiful style. Mansoor Rahi was person who spread love. Jamal Shah, via video link, said that whatever field, to excel, one needs both education and experience. Mansoor Rahi was an expert in art and its practice. He always teaching someone something new. Farhan Qureshi said he was compassionate person, an exemplary teacher and an excellent artist who brought Pakistani art to global recognition.
S.A. Noori mentioned that he was an art teacher who made art simple to understand and taught drawing on PTV, inspiring many to join this field. Abdul Hameed noted that it is unfortunate that many people here keep their skills to themselves, while Mansoor Rahi always tried to teach his work to his students, giving them paternal care.
