KARACHI: Administrator Karachi  Murtaza Wahab said fourth two-day literature festival organised by KMC at Frere Hall welcomed academic and literary organisations and possible support was assured to them. Murtaza Wahab said, “Theme of this year’s literature festival was climate change and it is topic that needs lot of attention at moment.”

We are paying price for negligence of international community,” he added. Use of literary platform to draw attention to such important issue was step forward in right direction. It should continue with same enthusiasm in future, he added. He said that it was important to enlighten new generation with our high academic, literary and cultural traditions.

It was matter of pride for KMC that successful literary festival was organised at historical place and KMC had opportunity to collaborate with organisers of literary festival. “There is great need for these kinds of academic and literary programmes in current era as our people are shifting away from books and social media has replaced books”. “It is matter of pride for city that these types of activities are not only continuing here, but citizens’ interest in them is increasing,” he added. Addressing ceremony Amina Syed and Shama Askari thanked Murtaza Wahab for his cooperation in organising festival.
