LAHORE: Interim bail in assets beyond means case of former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has been extended till December 5 by Accountability Court (AC) yesterday. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted its response in court on interim bail of Usman Buzdar in assets beyond means case. Court asked anti-graft watchdog if it is necessary to arrest former Punjab Chief Minister Buzdar.

NAB prosecutor informed court that PTI leader’s arrest warrant is not issued yet. Earlier, an accountability court stopped NAB from arresting Buzdar in this case. Former Punjab CM had approached court to seek interim bail in assets beyond case lodged against him by anti-graft watchdog. Court ordered Usman Buzdar to submit surety bonds of Rs 500,000 for availing relief. He urged court to bar NAB from arresting his client. Court, after hearing initial arguments of counsel, granted interim bail to Buzdar till November 30 and restrained bureau from his arrest. On November 4, Lahore High Court ordered NAB to avoid taking coercive measures against Buzdar in ongoing inquiry against him.
