8th anniversary of terrorist attack on APS Peshawar observed

ISLAMABAD: Eight anniversary of terrorist attack on APS Peshawar was observed. Main function of tragic incident of APS School was held in Army Public School Peshawar.

Special prayers were offered for martyred students and teachers of Army Public School. Parents of martyred students also laid floral wreath on Yadgar-e-Shuhada.

It was on this day when six terrorists stormed Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of school.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that December 16 is day for nation to become one voice against terrorism. 

Premier took to his official Twitter handle and said, “Every year, December 16 reminds entire nation of agony and sorrow when terrorists carried out atrocities in APS Peshawar.”

Shehbaz added that today is day to pay homage to martyrs of APS tragedy and share grief of their families. “Nation of Pakistan will never forget sacrifices of its martyrs,” he added.

Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb also paid homage to martyrs and said despite passage of eight years, even today we are unable to forget tragedy.

Meanwhile in statement, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf said pain of Army Public School Peshawar tragedy is still fresh in nation’s heart.

He said resilience and courage of bereaved families and students of APS have reinforced nation’s resolve to root out militancy in all forms and manifestations.
