8,140 policemen to provide security for Benazir’s death anniversary

LARKANA: As many as 8,140 police officers and jawans will be deployed for security of 15th death anniversary of slain PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto to be observed on December 27, 2022 at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto near Larkana. This was informed by Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Muhammad Imran Khan while presiding over meeting. Meeting finalised foolproof security and traffic arrangements for anniversary.

He said that tight security arrangements had been made death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto. Police Commandos and Rangers will also extend help in this regard. SSP said that patrolling in and around Garhi Khuda Bux and Naundero had been intensified where police pickets had been established along routes leading to Garhi Khuda Bux where event will be held.

He said intense checking would be ensured through modern equipment, walkthrough gates and watch towers while Naundero Town and Bhutto mausoleum would be monitored through CCTV cameras and other latest instruments. Caravans, hotels, bus stands, railway stations and guest houses will also be checked. Parking facilities had also been provided where 750 traffic cops would discharge their duties to ensure smooth flow of vehicles, he added. He said Special Control Room had also been established which would monitor all security matters. Meanwhile, all cops will reside in government schools and to perform their official duties. Traffic will be controlled by Karachi’s traffic cops who have also brought their equipment as per routine.
