7 Pak-soldier among 32 UN peacekeepers martyred in wanton attacks in 2022: report

ISLAMABAD: At least 32 United Nations peacekeeping personnel, including seven from Pakistan were killed in deliberate attacks last year, according to UN Staff Union. For ninth year in row, United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was deadliest for peacekeepers with 14 fatalities, followed by 13 fatalities in United Nations Organisation Stabilisation Mission in Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), four fatalities in United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) and one fatality in United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Among 32 fatalities were 28 military and 4 police personnel, including woman police officer.–Online
