4th Tilism Theater, Dance Festival inaugurated at Arts Council Karachi

KARACHI: 4th 17-day Tilism Theater and Dance Festival was inaugurated with classical performance of well-known classical dancer Sohai Abro in conjunction with completion of 45 years of Tehrik-e-Niswan, with joint cooperation of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi and Tehrik-e-Niswan.

Sheema Karmani presented great classical dance along with her dance group. Romana Hussain performed duties of moderator. Sheema Karmani said that journey of Tehrik-e-Niswan is continuing with hard work of last forty-five years, we have struggled to convince ourselves.

Festival will continue till January 22, 2023 while performances will be presented daily. Festival is free for all but children under twelve years of age cannot participate in festival.

 

Mohenjo Daro puppet show was highlight of festival. Many of plays presented at Festival have been significant in history of theater and dance including presentation of Urdu version of 'Light in Village', originally written by Scottish playwright Jo Clifford.

'Building Theater of Love' on January 10 followed by 2 performances of her play 'Gaon Me Roshni on January 10 and 11.
