46,000 beneficiaries to get Zakat cards: CM Advisor

KARACHI: Advisor to CM Sindh on Zakat Fayyaz Ali Butt said that Zakat cards will be distributed across province through Sindh Bank to 46,000 Zakat beneficiaries by 10th of Ramadhan.

In order to maintain transparency in this regard, process of verification of Zakat beneficiaries through biometric system has been completed. He said this while presiding over meeting in Sindh Secretariat office.

Chairman Zakat Council Niaz Ali Jessar, Secretary Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr Munawar Ali Mahesar, member Sindh Zakat Council Ashfaq Ali Isran, Asad Ali Shah, Imran Samad from Sindh Bank also attended meeting.

Butt further said that in first phase, 46,000 zakat deserving people would be given Zakat cards through Sindh Bank. These Zakat cards will be distributed across province by 10th Ramadhan ul Mubarak. He said that Zakat card distribution ceremony will be held at Chief Minister Sindh House. In opening ceremony, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will give zakat cards to zakat deserving people. Fayaz Ali Butt said that distribution of zakat has been made transparent through biometric verification so that only deserving people can receive zakat.
