2-week long: Pak-Turkiye military drills ‘ATATURK XII-23’ start: ISPR

Rawalpindi: Pakistan and Turkiye started joint military exercises at Tarbela in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. According to statement from military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), opening ceremony was attended by officials from both countries. “Troops from Turkish special force and Special Services Group (SSG) are participating in exercise,” said statement.

Two-week-long “ATATURK-XII 2023” drills are aimed at enhancing counter-terrorism techniques, it added. According to statement, activity will focus on compound clearance, cave clearance, sniper training, counter improvised explosive devices (IED) training and combat medical care. “Drills are going to enhance cooperation between two countries while fighting against terrorism,” statement added.
