Accidents do occur! When Elizabeth Banks entered stage to give Best Visual Effects award at 2023 Oscars, she tripped. On Sunday, March 12 at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, 49-year-old former star of The Hunger Games rushed to take stage. Banks tripped over long train of her floor-length black and white gown as she walked to microphone.

She avoided falling, which allowed her to gracefully recover from situation. A person dressed as bear followed Pitch Perfect star as she left stage and accompanied her as she delivered award.

She joked to crowd, “Oh my God, he tripped me,” while also joking that visual effects were requirement in movie business, particularly for her newest feature, Cocaine Bear, which she directed.

Starring in suspenseful film were Keri Russell and late Ray Liotta, who was remembered during evening’s In Memoriam segment.–Agencies
