ISLAMABAD: Spokesperson Foreign Office declaring 2022 as year of peace with regard to Line of Control (LoC) said we want friendly relations with all neighbouring countries including India.
Decision by Afghan authorities regarding restriction on women education dismayed us. It is hoped that Afghan authorities will review this decision. Security agencies of Pakistan are ever ready for protection of foreign diplomats and citizens. Neither any foreign diplomatic mission gave specific information about terrorism nor contacted foreign ministry about threats to their staffers. US has accorded approval to provide military equipment to Pakistan after long period. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will host International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan in Geneva on January 9, said spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during weekly press briefing here.
She held that in 2022 high level contacts took place between Pakistan and friendly countries after coronavirus restrictions. She said biggest achievement of Pakistan was to come out of FATF grey list.
Establishment of international fund regarding climate change is also big achievement for Pakistan. A remarkable improvement has come in Pak-US ties, she remarked. US appointed its new Ambassador in Pakistan after four years. Foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visits to US in Septemberand December remained positive, she underlined.
She indicted Pakistan opened its new missions in Djibouti, Ghana and Ivory coast. A meeting was held between Bilawal Bhutto and his Afghan acting counterpart in Tashkent. State minister Hina Rabbani Khar held meetings with Afghan authorities in Kabul. We are in contact with Afghan authorities regarding border arrangements and security. Pakistan is striving for stable and peaceful Afghanistan.
