PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Haji Ghulam Ali administered oath to 15 ministers of interim cabinet amid claims by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf that this ‘looks like PDM Cabinet’. According to notification issued by Administrative Department of KP government, Governor approved interim Cabinet under Article 224(1A) of Constitution.

Ministers who took oath include former Inspector General Syed Masood Shah, Barrister Sanwal Nazir, Bakht Nawaz, Fazal Elahi, Adnan Jalil, Shafiullah Khan, Shahid Khan Khattak, Haji Ghufran, Khushdil Khan Malik, Taj Muhammad Afridi, Muhammad Ali Shah, and Justice (retd) Irshad Qaiser, Manzoor Khan Afridi, Abdul Haleem Qasuriya and Hamid Shah. Ministers were sworn in at ceremony at Governor’s House. Portfolios of interim Cabinet members have yet not been announced. However, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former provincial Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra has raised objections over newly-appointed interim Cabinet. PTI leader shared notification of appointments over Twitter saying, “Sadly, this looks like PDM Cabinet, barring couple of better persons.”

Meanwhile, eleven member Cabinet of caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi took oath of their offices. Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman administered oath to caretaker Cabinet members. They included health expert Dr Javed Akram, former bureaucrat Nasim Sadiq, senior journalist Amir Mir, cricketer Wahab Riaz, Bilal Afzal, SM Tanveer, Ibrahim Murad, Tamkinat Karim, Dr Jamal Nasir, Mansoor Qadir and Syed Azfar Ali Nasir.
