12 soldiers martyred, 7 terrorists killed in incidents: ISPR

Rawalpindi: At least nine security personnel were martyred by terrorists in an early morning attack on Zhob Garrison in northern Balochistan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. Military’s media wing had earlier put death toll to four, stating that five soldiers were critically injured.

Later in evening, it said that injured soldiers succumbed to their wounds and embraced martyrdom. “Initial attempt of terrorists to sneak into facility was checked by soldiers on duty,” ISPR said, adding that terrorists were soon after cornered in small area near boundary following heavy exchange of fire. “In total, five terrorists have been sent to hell during operation,” ISPR said, adding that clearance operation was successfully completed. Meanwhile, Three soldiers embraced martyrdom and two terrorists were killed in ongoing operation in Balochistan Sui district.

Inter-Services Public Relations said in statement that exchange of fire took place between security forces and heavily armed terrorists during an ongoing operation in Balochistan Sui district. During fire exchange, 3 Pakistan Army soldiers having fought gallantly embraced martyrdom, whereas, two terrorists were killed during operation. Security forces are maintaining pressure and clearance operation is underway to apprehend remaining terrorists as well, it added.

ISPR said that security forces remain focused to neutralise enemies of peace in Balochistan and Pakistan. “Security forces and nation remain resilient and determined to thwart all such dastardly attempts of enemy aimed at destroying peace of Balochistan and Pakistan.”
