10-day ‘Clean and Green’ drive in District Central gears up

Karachi: In order to make District Central green and transparent, cleaning work is underway in various areas under ‘Clean and Green’ campaign. On second day of campaign, Allama Hasan Naqvi along with Trustee Imam Bargah All-e-Muhammad inspected work being done from Disco Mor North Karachi to Anda Moor. Number of representatives of society and students were present. In drive all departments of Central Municipality including Sanitation, Gardens, B&R and others are playing their respective role.

In campaign, staff of Gardens Department along with civil society and students planted trees to make green belts beautiful and green. Municipal Commissioner Shamoona Sadaf talking to audience said that under direction of Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of Taha Saleeim organisations and individuals participating in this campaign. She appealed to residents of area to put garbage of their houses and shops in garbage bins placed by Municipality so that staff of Sanitation Department can collect and dispose of waste. Shamoona said officials and employees of Municipality are performing their responsibilities well, due to which District can be improved.

She welcomed students in campaign and hope that they will provide awareness about ‘Clean and Green’ campaign in their home, neighbourhood and circle of friends.
