MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is planning a motion of no confidence against the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan, sources said Monday. President of PML-N AJK’s chapter Shah Ghulam Qadir has landed in London, where according to sources, he consulted former Pakistan PM and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif on the strategy to oust AJK PM from his office.
Sources said that Qadir presented the suggestions of PML-N AJK’s Parliamentary party before Nawaz and the latter gave his input. Sources also added that AJK’s united opposition has finalized its preparations to bring the vote of no-confidence against Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, a wealthy businessman-turned-politician. Former PM Nawaz Sharif and Former President Asif Ali Zardari are personally taking interest in downing their common political rival PTI in the Pakistani-administered Jammu and Kashmir, sources added.
On the other hand, sources also confirmed internal rift between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) AJK Chapter. AJK Treasury Minister Abdul Majid Khan on Monday tendered his resignation before the PM. It should also be mentioned that according to sources, Majid has a support of 12-14 AJK lawmakers.
