ISLAMABAD: Federal government agreed to protesting farmers’ demands, who have been holding a sit-in in capital for almost a week.
In a press conference after holding latest round of talks with farmers, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a committee to resolve protesters’ issues.
“Committee will hold negotiations with farmers tomorrow. All issues of farmers will be resolved,” interior minister said, urging protesters to end their sit-in. He urged all those supporting farmers in their sit-in to return to their homes as a ministerial committee would hear all their reservations. “Country will prosper once farmer prospers,” Sanaullah said. He added that government has agreed to farmers’ demand regarding fuel adjustment charges and deferment in payment of bills.
