Dadu: Central vice President Pakistan Tehreek Insaf and leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh paid a visit to newly under construction Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Cadet College Kakar Town in Dadu district.

He took around various sections of under construction building of College. PTI leaders Dr Masroor Sial, Haji Nisar Arain and Rajabb Shahani were also with him.

Censuring inordinate delay in completion of project, he said former President, Asif Ali Zardari had inaugurated project stretched over 104 acres.

Development work of project started in 2008 but despite passage of 13 years on meagre allocation in every budget only 20 percent work on project has so far been completed, he added.

The cost of project is rising with every passing year but progress could only be seen in files, Haleem observed. “Taxpayers’ money is being squandered only for sake of commissions.”

Education system in Sindh has been paralysed as hundreds of such projects were designed just for getting commissions and kick-backs, he alleged.

In district Dadu, 700 schools out of total 2,100 educational institutions are closed while around 200 schools had been turned into ‘Otaqs’ of influential persons.

He said that in Sindh PPP is getting votes in name of Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto and they were busy minting money by designing projects named after their martyred leader.
